Can you believe this crap!
Do a search for "SMITFRAUDFIX" or "smitfraudfix.cmd" and download fix.
No, lavasoft does not fix it, yet. You have to start your computer in safe mode, run this fix, and then it will be gone.
You need to reboot your PC in safe mode, run the smitfraudfix.cmd and then it will be clean.

The best anti spyware thats available at this moment is Microsoft Defender from Microsoft Inc. You can download the software free of cost at http://www.microsoft.com/
To uninstall the previous antispyware of your machine, go to the control panel and choose the name of that antispyware to be removed from the list of other software installed in ur compter at Add/Remove Programs

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

I'm guessing you've looking in the Add/Remove control panel. Try finding the folder it's in. Sometimes there will be a "UnInstall" file there.

I had something like that happen to me when I installed a HP printer and I had a Hp rep. walk me through removing it and we couldn't remove it??
So, good luck to you but u might want to try doing the safe mode computer route and see what happens. But, I know once on my friend's computer I downloaded a free viruses scanner or remover and it attatched it self. and it took a few days on consist trying to remove it, lucked up and got rid of it .so try, try again and keep your fingers cross.
