Do not quit. What you need to do is go down to your local unemployment office and tell them what is happening. They will put you in touch with the right people to prove a harassment case against your employer. If they feel you do have a case they will take you as a client. This happens a lot and they have laws and regulations to protect people in your situation.

You're right, it is against the law for an employer to fire you because of a workman's comp issue. Harassment is also against the law. I would contact your workman's comp representative and explain the issue. They can give you information of who to contact, which most likely will be a referral to a workman's comp lawyer.
If you liked your job before all of this, don't quit because of this jerk. If your boss is doing this to you, it is likely he is doing the same thing to others and it needs to be handled properly through legal intervention.
How did the injury happen in the first place? Was it due to an unsafe environment at work? Perhaps he was not following the work place safety codes and this is really why he's really having an issue over it.
In any case, call your workman's comp representative.

You say "I am tendering my resignation. My last day will be XXX." He probably won't ask for a reason and won't try to keep you.
I'm not sure if you really want to quit or want some advice on what to do with the harrassment and such. If you really feel like you have solid evidence of this, go to HR. If the company is worth any salt, it will investigate fully and take immediate action.
Your quitting in this situation could be seen as a "constructive firing", which is basically that your boss made it so bad for you to work there that you were forced to quit. This has significance in obtaining unemployment benefits.

Just quit, preferably at a time extremely inconvienient for him. I wouldn't put myself through the misery of holding out for him to fire me in hopes of getting unemployment.
As someone who has been wrongfully fired twice and denied unemployement due to the boss lying through his teeth about the real reason for termination, let me just say DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Every time he harasses you, write it down with date and time, and if you possibly can, get another employee to sign it if they saw the harassment. Otherwise, he'll just tell the unemployment arbitrator that you had a bad attitude or could not get along with co-workers and that he'd warned you about it multiple times. They'll always side with the employeer unless you have something besides your own word to back your story up.

This happens all the time and it isn't right. I feel for you and a lot of people are going thru it. I have a freind goint thru this same thing right now. She's gone to everybody with no results. Personally, unless it's really big I won't claim workmans comp. I know it isn't fair to me but I do have insurance and I really like my job cause I know what they'll do.

If you can prove these allegations then I would certainly file a formal complaint. You need this in your file to protect yourself.
