All opinions are welcomed. My opinion is: I'll take Kobe over MJ.

From what you saw throughout their careers, who would you rather take, from leadership, to points scored...all the way down to the little things...who would you take to start a franchise with?

I dont know how this is even a debatable topic...even if you are going to ignore the stats...MJ is by far a much better team leader and gives more effort...Im a huge MJ fan and every movie/biography ive ever seen or read some coach or team mate or another (usually phil jackson, who has coached both) says that "MJ makes any coaches job easier, because you dont have to work hard to motivate your team when your star player is the hardest worker most of these guys have ever seen" Not to mention MJ is the only player in recent history to win the Defensive player of the year and lead the league in scoring in the same year..and is statistically as good and probably better than kobe....the only way I pick Kobe over MJ is if your talking about me starting one tomorrow with each of them in their current shape, because no duh you pick the young in shape guy over the 40 year old whose been out of the game

In their prime or today?

Today, I'd have to pick Kobe. It doesn't make much sense to start a team off with a 40+ year old player.

In their prime, I'd pick Michael Jordan over ANYONE. Kobe isn't even close to being anywhere near Michael Jordan's skill, talent, leadership, athleticism, etc. . .MJ wins in all categories.

Anyone who says that Kobe is better than MJ has no knowledge of basketball or NBA whatsoever. Nor they have good scouting skills.

Jordan who else? He not only was the best ever but he made everyone around him better. The only reason Kobe won three championships was because of Shaq and now that Shaq has one with another team, it only makes the argument even better. Kobe will never win another championship and he doesn't make his teammates better. Michael Jordan did all of those things and won six rings!

MJ all the way. He made his entire team better. Kobe still isn't doing that. jordan was a better defender getting over 2 stls a game and nearly a blk a game. kobe gets one stl a game and about a half block per game. In career stats, kobe gets 5 rebounds and 4 assts per game, jordan got 6 rebounds and 5 assts per game. mj avgd 30 pts per game, kobe avg's 24 per game. mj shot .497 fg and .835 ft...kobe shoots .452 fg and .835 ft. To me, it's a no brainer, mj all the way. stats don't lie!

I would choose Kobe Bryant because MJ is to old to play basketball right now.

Kobe! Michael is getting a divorce and may be a little short on cash!
