Wrong. Your problem i'ts not solved just by eating more as some say . Sure you already try it and didn't work. You need to gain muscle, not just put weight on (wanna be a skinny lady with a homer belly ??? dont think so). Workout in the gym is a good idea, or in your house.
Drink protein shakes and eat chicken or meat, also eggs and have some milk. You have an amazing advantage among women, you dont seem to storage fat!. Move your a.s.s. to the gym and become a hottie. Goodspeed.

my wife had the same problem. the most important thing is to eat consistantly. don't skip meals. your body will burn off the fat stored in your body for fuel if you don't have any food in your body. eat lots of breads, pastas, bannanas, etc. lots of juice as well. it might be easier to slowly start adding extra toppings to the food you already eat now. like salad.. you can add a richer dressing, etc. it will take a little time but all of these things i mentioned will help you. my wife struggled with being underweight for a long time and she was able to gain 20 pounds doing the above. good luck and remember you are beautiful no matter what size you are!

Eat good food vegetables and fruits everyday with a good red meat like steak or something every 2 days too.
And snack out,but only in moderation like once a week.
Do body weight exercises to tone your body, but don't do highly demanding cardio's until you've put on your ideal weight.

Try and put it on with healthy fatty foods like nuts, avacados, fish, etc, instead of junk. You'll look way healthier. Just eat slightly larger portions than you have been. Oh, and whole milk helps too.

eat a lot of legumes (beans), pasta, potatoes, rice and bread. All the things with high carbs that make people fat. Be careful, you can risk your health by doing a drastic change. I wouldn't increase sugar and fat too much, fat doesn't necessarily make you fat, it's carbs that really bring up the bulk. Too much sugar can cause problems like diabetes.
