I was looking for a cheap scorpion to get my collection started and found one in a pet shop that I went in to fairly often. the name listed was golden desert scorpion, and after being assured that it wasn't dangerous, I bought it. the next day I did a search online to see if there was any info on it, and couldn't find the name.
what I did find was that it has a close resemblance to a species named Parabuthus Granulatus. from what I have read I am concerned, since this species is highly toxic, and was wondering if anyone out there knows the answer to this question.

There are two similar scorpions to the name you mentioned...

Golden Dune Scorpion from Phoenix, AZ - Smeringurus mesaensis

and

The Israeli Gold Scorpion - Scorpio maurus

It's always hard to tell by a common name, which one you're referring to.

First look at this page: http://www.google.com/search?q=species%3A+golden+scorpion&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a and see if you find it there.
