I wash all my clothes in cold water. (I don't notice any difference by washing in hot, so why not save the energy?) Also, to save from wrinkling (I hardly need to iron), I only put clothes in the dryer for 5 minutes then I hang to dry the rest of the way. I do that for my kids' clothes, too. They last longer and that way my older son's clothes actually keep their size and are still good to pass to his younger brother!

don't even wash cotton shirts in hot water (it makes them shrink) & dry them on a lower dryer heat. You might have to dry them a little longer than usual but it really does beat having to replace all the shirts you're shrinking in the long run I promise.

Wash your cotton shirts in cold water, dry them on the lowest setting in your dryer, take them out of the dryer when they no longer have wrinkles and let them finish drying on a hanger!

You cannot shrink an XL to a M - especially if it is made from preshrunk cotton. It may shrink a very little bit in the dryer, but never two sizes.

wash in cold water, than buy a fisher and paykel top loading dryer. They dry with higher air flow, and lower temperatures, so you are not baking the fabrics like every other dryer on the market does. This company is smart, they work to clean and save your clothes. they are not just trying to get your clthes clean and charge you a lot of money doing it. Check out fisher and Paykel you will be excited...Plus 2 years Parts and Labor included!!

You might need to get a new drier. One time I had pants that fit perfect with my own drier, then I moved to a house that already had a drier in it and the pants didn't fit anymore. Some dryiers say they have different settings but they really on have two: Hot and Air. You need to dry your cotton on a warm setting because nothing dries on air and hot will shrink it. You could just get bigger shirts.

Air dry cool setting and make sure its not dry clean only. Best to remove shrinkable fabrics from washer and place on a sweater rack to dry. And always wash in cold water. Good Luck

I wash in hot water (whites) and in cold water (colours) and I dry both on low heat setting or time dry. Good luck.
