There are a couple ways of checking visited sites aside from View > History. In Safari menu > Preferences > Security > Click on Show Cookies and you will get a list of sites visited. In Firefox menu > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies tab > Click on View Cookies. If you have a third party Firewall installed, there should be a way to view visited sites also. One other way is when your logged in to his account, in Finder's menu > Go > Go to Folder > type in ~/Library/Safari/ you will get a Window with a few files, one of them being History.plist, open that with OmniOutliner and you will be able to view visited sites.

If he clears the history, there is no way you will find it unless he visits one site very often and then when you type in the address, it should come up. But if you don't know the address, then you wont be able to find it. How old is your son? If he's younger than 13, I can understand your worrying but if not, I think its quite normal for him to be curious. :-) Does he have a girlfriend? Maybe he needs a girlfriend....
Also , if you can't talk to him, then what are you going to do when you confront him?

At the top of the screen there is a bar...it says File View History...pull down history and it will tell where he has been, IF you are logged in to his desktop. He also has the abillity to erase his history at the end of his session. Thanks for being a parent who cares about his children enough to confront them!

Click on the history icon and it will show everything. To prevent him from going to these sites do this. You can go to tools then click on Internet options then click on content then click on content adviser and you can set the computer where he can not go into these sites. My son did and it ended up locking my computer up because some of the sites has something that invades your computer and really messes it up

Just assume that he is. You can trust your instincts.
Next, assure him that he is normal but that porn is only fantasy and while sex is healthy, fantasy is not always. Porn is VERY disprespectful to women, and women don't really behave that way, look like that, or deserve to be treated that way.
