PC, your cavalier attitude about Saddam's brutal killings are antithetical to liberal ideology. Isn't a true liberal concerned about life and the compassion thereof? Many people during Hitler's time were asking the same types of questions. This attitude made the conditions for mass murder a fertile ground. A simple suggestion: don't tell anyone you're an American/liberal.

for one it wasnt the americans who executed him it was his own people, that in itself speaks for itself - if your own country is against you then i guess you cant be that great. u said "he killed a couple of people here and there, thats just life? i dont know about you but i dont go around killing people everyday as part of my general routine - that is not life. honestly i dont think that he should have been killed i think he should have been kept alive and been tortured every day until he dies. he shouldve been beat and brutalized so he could feel what it was like for his victims and their families. as a fellow american, i must say where is your nationalism that lets you feel that trash like saddam should be allowed to breathe on this planet? Hes scum - he deserved far worse than what he got

I'm never happy to see capital punishment but Saddam is the poster boy for evil dictators. He murdered hundreds of Shiite, Kurds and political opponents. They should have had a true comprehensive trial airing all of his crimes against humanity but the world will little miss the Butcher of Bagdad

First off, he wasn't "slayed by the Americans" His own people had it done, and why? Not because he "killed a couple people here and there" but he killed litterally THOUSANDS of innocent people! I do not see it as evil at work, I see it as justice. A much needed justice.

A "couple of people here and there"?!? We turned him over to the Iraqis and they executed him after he was found guilty by their legal system - we didn't slay him. Where have you been? I'm against capital punishment as a rule, but frankly your question sounds ignorant!

I don't like it. I differ from you because I do see him as evil. I just don't like how we got to this point. It seems awfully quick for him to be executed. In America, a death sentence takes years, even decades before it actually occurs. I am also suspicious of the trial. Its like the election in Iraq. We say its Democratic, but then we give them a list of people thay can't vote for. I strongly believe in following protocal, procedure and tradition to eliminate funny business. Things seemed rushed and make me believe there is something else going on.

The Americans didn't kill him. He was prosecuted by his own people and convicted by his own people and executed by his own people. If you were related to any of his victims you would feel very differently.

the americans were not the once who hung him, if it was the americans they'd give him appeals till he died of old age.
