My definition of "unnecessary responsibilities" is anything in life that is work BUT you don't need it to survive nor advance your life.

It is actually our "unnecessary responsibilities" that keep the world going as it is. By your definition, the stock market, the judicial system, the government are not necessary even though the lack of the latter two would result in countries falling apart. Sometimes, things that seem unnecessary (by your definition) actually have a great impact on the world.

"no man is an Island" that means no man can live his entire life without the help and input of others. What might seem unnecessary or even trivial to you, might be vital to enabling someone else to live their life. I can't immagine living my life without doing everything I can to help anyone who needs even the tiniest bit of help
