As long as your computer has a dvd-rom drive (or better), it should be able to play dvd's made for dvd players, regardless of the dvd type (dvd+/-r)

Any DVD should play just fine on your computer through Windows Media Player. You can't buy a DVD formatted for watching on a computer - BUT if you download a movie through a program like Limewire you can watch it on your computer [but not on your normal DVD player usually]!

Put the DVD player in your DVD drive on your computer. Give it a minute and it will pop up with a screen asking what you want to do. Say "Play this movie in Windows Media Player" and it will start

:)

Yes, you can just put your DVD in your XP computer, and watch it. You don't need a specially formatted DVD. I watch DVD's in my computer all the time, the very same ones you can watch in a DVD player. I'm not sure, but I think there's a program that you need to have in your computer, but if it's an XP, it should already have it. Hope that helps

You can watch regular DVD movies on your XP Computer but you will need a DVD drive in your computer, these are pretty common in new PCs these days but if yours dosen't have one you can pick one up from your local store for very little. Have a look at your CD drive on your PC for the DVD logo, if you can see it then you have one in and your ready to go! :-)

As well as the DVD drive you will need DVD player software, usually bundled with the drive if not then use something like WinDVD available from http://www.intervideo.com/

Any DVD drive for your computer will allow you to play the movie. If you don't have one, you get A plug and play USB dvd drive that will do it for you. All of those will work on a windows XP computer.

If you have a DVD drive in your computer, it may already be configured to watch a DVD movie. If not, you will need DVD viewing software, which can be purchased and/or downloaded from the internet.

You need a dvd-drive instead of a cd or cdrw drive, not a different kind of dvd. Does the door to your disk drive say dvd, or cd? Try looking at craigslist.org or a used computer parts store for a dvd drive if you need one, they can be external so you don't have to have it installed.
