It would be either a novel or game about finding lost tomes of an ancient civilization that ruled the world with sorcery. The art of sorcery has been forbidden by the Guardian beings (They are kind of like angels that rule the prime material plane by the authority of god), but recent developments have caused a need to rekindle the lost arts.

The problem is "forbidden knowledge" is already the title of a novel, so I need something similar.

A lot of nice posts here for this q. I'm pleasantly surprised. No winner ideas yet though.

I was hoping on using Latin, but couldn't find a translation of it... Latin just has an air to it, that would, (in my opinion), be perfect for what you are looking for, but those two aren't to bad of a choice. Using an older language like latin would add a nice touch.

Sounds like a good read! my input at this point is something like The Forgotten Secret or ... The Guardians of the Lost. give me a while and I could think up more but be careful to really choose your title and not take one you think is "good enough".....Settle for nothing less than YOUR view of perfection!

Outlawed lore - banned wisdom

But you do know, I hope, that book titles cannot be copyrighted.
You can use "Forbidden Knowledge" legally, if you wish.

Joe K,
The Latin would be

Inconcessus Scientia (or Conscientia), which does indeed have a nice ring to it
