No the Pc should boot ok as long as the memory is the same type as you have in the pc already.

As for the DVD drive it will not run DVD's until you load a free or pay for DvD player software, it will just act like CD player.

You should not need anything to reboot your system. However, if the dvd drive came with software, that might be drivers you need to use it, but you would install that after you reboot.

Of course, you should have been reading the install guide when you put in the dvd.

I would recommend installing all the software given by the company to prevent any future problems, but after installing reboot your computer and see if everything is up and running.

if you are using windows xp, it most likely wont need any drivers,for the dvd drive,and windows media player will recognize a dvd movie as such, so you wont need any special players.the memory will automatically work through the bios provided the memory is the correct type,and it works.
