doesnt usually requires an installation cd to get a printer working, it just needs drivers to tell how to communicate with it, if your operating system does not have the driver they can be downloaded from the internet. In some case the mfg has a download of the installation from there website, so you can also try that

go to the site of the printer what ever it is type in the make and model most you can download the hole program for the printer but you better have dsl or cable the program takes round 20 minutes to do with either but if you have dial up forget wait for the mail it would takes hours for the download

you can go to the manufacturers website,and download the correct driver,you can call the tech support line an have them mail you a driver cd in the mail,also if your using win xp,it may have a driver that'll work already,or can find one at the windows update website
