Marshall Crenshaw wrote it, and recorded it, then Bette Midler did it (great version) in 1983 on her "NO FRILLS" album, and Owen Paul did it in 1986. They are all the same song!!

The tall skinny bloke with tight jeans and a terrible perm. The video had him walking along a beach holding a guitar.
