He's 8 years old.
Hates needles. Can he sit on my lap - or is he to old ?
How can i keep him calm - and distract him ?

I have been doing this since I was 8, a RN told me to do this and I still do it till this day, I think of my favotire food (pizza) and i say the word pizza over and over till it is over.

Umm hi I'm 14 and have a fear of needles too. I think he can sit in your lap. If he'll feel uncomfortable than don't. Some kids don't like there parents to be there and some do. Ask him? Tell him that its just going to pinch for 10 sec. Do not tell him that it wont hurt, because that is lying and next time he'll be even scared. Tell him not to look at the needle. If he needs to hold his arm (the one he is getting the needle) he can do that. Hope this helps.
