Okay. In /my/ school's perspective it is this. (These terms vary place to place. So there is no exact definition)
1. Cool=You are "popular" you where appropriate clothing, you're normal looking or above average-looking. You have lots of friends and fail to do your schoolwork. Oh yeah, and you have to be Puerto Rican or black. If you're Asian, you're in the middle.
2. Nerd=You are not popular and you may or may not have friends but your friends aren't very popular either. You don't dress like the "cool" people and you always do your schoolwork.
I am sorta a nerd in my school just because I do my schoolwork.

In my /old/ school it was this.
1. Cool=You dress preppy and you have lots of friend. You're friendly and you don't follow other people.
2. Nerd=You can be dumb or smart, it really doesn't matter. But you are too abnormal and tend to do awkward things that are unpleasant. But being called a "nerd" isn't a totally bad thing.
In this case, I was "cool" in my old school or "fashionable nerd". I know this sounds ridiculous and in my opinion, this whole "cool and nerd" thing doesn't really matter to me. But I answered your question anyways just because you were curious. ;)

There is one interesting and never reputable problem and it
is nerd behavior is recorded. Nerd tends to be those that own
enough, and hear enough, and work enough, although they
may have political biased investments. History tells us that in
the long haul they will be ok, so nerds are defined by a lower
cause and interactive lifestyle making them clannish. A cool
person generally today is an independent story of the love,
peace generation going forth with confidence perhaps without
much planning, though cautious enough to be conservative.

Your attitude. Embrace your inner nerd and you become cool. Let your ego take over and you become a nerd.

someone cool is popular and a nerd is not. Its really unfair, but hey, its school, and school sure aint fair. Not when ur stuck n middle or high school.

in my eyes a cool person is different to everyone else and doesn't follow the crowd , even wears their hair different to everyone else. Then everyone looks up to you and wants to be you.
