Yes you can, they place the cath by feeling in between the vertebrea, a tatoo shouldn't be a problem, I worked in labor and delivery for three years, and never seen someone not receive one because of a tatoo.

Yes you can, I have a lower back tattoo and two children and one on the way. I've had and epi with both my children and plan to have another here in a few weeks. Congrats on the little one.

A tatoo has nothing to do with your spinal cord. The tattoo is only on the skin. If she is still concerned, she can ask her doc. Whoever told you that is just silly.

i dont see why she cant get an epidural. I never heard if you have a back tat that you couldn't get an epi. I would definitely ask the dr. about it. Just in case she cannot better prepare herself for the pain she will endure. Good Luck.

My friend has a lower back tattoo and got an epi. Theres no reason you cant get one with a tattoo.

Yes. The epidural is given in the MIDDLE of the back, not the lower back. Even so, I don't see why it would make a difference.

Yes I had an epidural and I have a lower back tattoo. It can be done. It's a little trickier.
