You don't its apart of who you are always. If your having panic attacks, maybe you have a mental problem and need to get help. Shyness and panic attacks are completely different. They can be related but shyness is normal, panic attacks are unhealthy and abnormal.

Remember, shyness is sometimes a form of arrogance. If this is the case, you first have to stop thinking that you are so important. When shyness is a form of arrogance this is how the person thinks. They do not want to make a wrong move or say the wrong thing because they are so stuck on themselves they think people are really paying attention to them. They are so stuck up they think everyone in a room is looking at them so they are scared they might trip or stumble and somehow embarrass themselves.
Then you have the other form of shyness, people who are from from arrogant. These people assign godlike status to others while lowering themselves to the status of common garden slugs. In this case all the shy person has to remember is, everybody poops. Now think about that. The prettiest girl in the room has to take a sht from time to time. How can someone who does such a disgusting thing be better than anyone? You should be cured now. Your welcome.

I was very shy when I was on high school Then, I kinda entered a theater class. The first time, I also vomit. I remember I couldn't remember my lines, so i acted as an old man in a newscast, and my "co-worker" had to remember things to me.
It's hard the 1st time, but later you get used to it. Another thing you can do is to chat on the Internet. There, you have time to think what you say and it's not as frightening as talking to someone you don't know face to face...
Good luck!

Forget drugs, they don't solve the problem. Being shy is not all bad. Now, if you are afraid of people you need to work on self-confidence.
Panic attacks are caused by fear and worry, both are bad- very bad. The main advice I would give you is to STOP comparing yourself to other people. That is the primary source of fear of people and feelings of inadequacy.

ask your doctor to put you on low dose of prozac, 10mg.
it will knock off the shyness enough to allow you to start conversations, etc. also help with the social anxiety disorder.
after about 6 months to a year, once your confidence is built up some, you can ween yourself off the medication.

If you have a Best friend try talking to her about more stuff. Then later on talk to morew of your friends friends and then maybe after that try E-harmony.com and try to get a date or a close friend. Maybe closer throughout the years.

Get your GP to refer you to a psychologist. They can clarify what your problem is as well as help you work on your anxiety with research supported therapeutic methods. Meds can help you lower your overall level anxiety so that you can work on it, but obviously meds are not a permanent solution.
