i am looking for a mascara that is thick but not clumpy, and since i have really short lashes i am looking for one that lengthens as well. any suggestions??

DiorShow, hands down - I get this at Nordstrom. Just curl your lashes beforehand and then put this stuff on and I practically have to say "Excuse me" when I blink. It makes your lashes really long and thick - they also have it in brown which is good for blondies and redheads like me. Also, when I put it on, I brush a bit of BareMinerals Mineral Veil over my lashes, which is a translucent powder, and it seems to sort of pump up my lashes and make them thicker before I apply my mascara. I've tried Maybelline, Almay, Clinique, Benefit, MAC, and nothing compares to this stuff. It's pricey though, I spend about 25 bucks a pop but it lasts a long time and is completely worth it. If you have a big night out as well, you can buy individual fake eyelashes from CVS that look pretty natural but you can glue a few onto the corners of your eyes to vamp it up. I also line my eyes with a MAC eyeshadow-dipped eyeliner brush - I use a bright green color because I have green eyes. Lining your eyes helps enhance your mascara because it makes your lashes look thicker at the base. Hope this helps and have fun!

The best expensive one found at your department stores like Macys and Nordstroms is by far Este Lauder. It's long wearing, no clump, and it looks natural enough. If you're on a smaller budget, go with the Cover Girl Professional or the Queen Latifah purple/red bottle. It really definines your lashes and makes them long and elegant!

Chanel do wonderful mascara, they do differnent ones for different types of lashes, and like you mine are really short and i found the Chanel really made them look full and long!

Try Lashexact from Covergirl or Volume Shocking from L'oreal... the thing about Volume Shocking is that you have to learn to apply it, if not it will look fatal. But if you learn, your lashes will look 12x longer, it's true!
