It is certainly hard to try and achieve in the presence of one such as this.
But the fact is, if you were not doing your job - he would have more than ample reason to rid of you.......so appears the "powers" he seems to boast to have do not carry full weight.
Have learned thru the years to do the same good job, whether in the presence of a boss or not, for your abilities are what really shine thru not THAT person.
Plus always know, that what comes around goes around and his day will come too but should bare no reflection on you and your work, if good.
You must realize that if his performance level is as harsh as you say, it most likely is not totally generated towards just you - cos sometimes do have bosses who tend to try and push those who are less vocal for it makes them feel empowered especially in front of others.
If awaiting his departure and your retirement and feel you are doing your best - hang tough - for you have worked for this!
Best wishes and happy new year!!

Honestly, when working with such a boss like that there's almost nothing that you can do other than kiss his butt. That may not be a solution for you, but if you really like your job and would like to stay...what else could you do? If you don't want to do that, maybe round up other staff that are experiencing the same grief as you and make compliments to his boss. Maybe there is a way to solve it by going through that way.

No existence is totally wasted, on the grounds that your recommendations is with a bit of luck functioning maximum to of the time. the way I see better half and young little ones artwork on the ideal of my head is that each and every physique would desire to %. up after themselves while they're sufficiently previous to take action, or proportion better half and young little ones chores, inspite of social classification. the difficulty with it somewhat is that then there will be little or no interest for some people who would desire to truthfully do and income on the artwork. I recommend you to do what you experience. Your existence, for this reason a tactics, would not totally revolve around doing others better half and young little ones chores, and that's your mainstay, yet you ought to use the money to do issues you may want to do, such as examining or doing different stuff that would desire to enable you to make funds, yet on a similar time you rejoice with. In different words, use the money you earn immediately to do something you may want to do day after today. it somewhat is totally as much as you what you return to a determination to do, and it might count on what you experience. the substantial difficulty is whether or not you experience you're dropping your existence or not, and then come to a determination what you may want to do... sturdy luck!!!

Talk to him. Tell him how his actions are affecting you and others in your company. If that does not work, tell him that you will want to talk to his boss. The only way to resolve this type of conflict is dialouge. I know you're thinking, but so many of us have tried this before and it doesn't work. I offer that it just takes one brave person to stand up for something and that can change the world!

Just do your job well to cover your bases and keep your mouth shut to fly under the radar as much as possible. Sounds like you've worked hard, kudos... just hang in there!
Edit: I saw this Yahoo article on bad bosses and thought of your question, here is the link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/bad_bosses

Is this person another supervisor of yours, or do you have to report to him/her in some capacity? In any event, talk to this person's supervisor, and let them know about what's going on. Sounds like he/she needs to be put in their place.

I understand what you are going through, it might be good to check with your HR dept. and possibly file a complaint.
