ok i'm well aware of the ideal plan of things - grow up, go out find your true love and settle down and raise a family. But if you don't get with your one and only true love, can you find happiness with someone else after that loss?

That may be your "ideal plan" but I don't think Life works that way for many. A lot of us hope to fall in love and have a successful relationship...that doesn't mean the relationship will last the rest of our lives...
Humans have an infinite capacity to love...just because one situation or relationship didn't turn out as we hoped, doesn't mean there won't be other positive ones (perhaps even better ones) down the road.
it's up to each of us to make our lives the best we can...and to choose to be happy or not...
Thankfully there are MANY people who are potentially great matches for us so we don't have to worry that there is only "one" ...the chances of meeting that person in our lifetime would be infinitesimal...
Go forth and love again...love yourself first though...the rest will fall into place...

the answer is in ur Q. it shows u had true love and it was lost. the days r changing. u forget the ex. and indulge in happiness in the present. there is no harm. nothing is permanent in this world, every thing is prone to change. example- if u r a widow , u r having remarriage-u r finding happiness with the new forgettting the old. old order changeth yielding plave to new. it is applicable to u also. dont loose the happiness in lthe name of so called true love etc., the period of happiness is shortlived. dont delay shirk the old and lurk on the new practically.

I don't think so because i myself could not find a true love after losing my lover.I tried for 2 months, make myself busy with my work,friends but it did not work.
I tried to think sb else but there is no other true love.Most people are not trustfull.They just want to pass the time.
You are right.There is no happiness after it and i hope you and me can tolerate it or can find our lost love again.
