I've got a stain on it, that's a bit stubborn, but don't think I can use anything abrasive. What do you use please?

I use a special cream cleaner especially for halogen hobs that I get from the local supermarket. When I had to have an engineer to my oven he told me to use a stanley blade and gently scrape off any burnt on ingredients from the hobs and then use the cream cleaner as normal. Your oven supplier will also be able to sell you some cleaner and also a scraper if you don't wish to use a stanley blade. Hope this is useful!

Just take some baking soda, mix it with a very small amount of vinegar to make a paste, and then put it on the carpet with an old toothbrush. Allow it to dry, then vacuum. If the stain is somewhat removed or lightened up, repeat again. Or small amount of Swarfega or WD-40. Worth testing a very small amount of these things to see what works best. Have also heard of the brown paper and iron method.

Wilkinsons do a good ceramic hob cleaner - does the job well. No need for Stanley Blades etc.

sharp blade in a carrier.. if it didnt come with your hod, then consider buying a window cleaning scraper for a DIY place that takes stanley blades. make sure the blade is sharp and free from damage.
