im unemployed (i do an evening hairdressing course 2 nights a week tho)
and i find myself thinking where did last year go?

i need to be more organised in my life but what can i do to sort myself out?
i think maybe it comes across at interviews or something or maybe it ruins my confidence somehow.
i feel really untidy in most aspects of my life.

i dont tend to stick to lists i make.
what else do you think i could do?

Set weekly targets. Start small like cleaning your gutters and work up to achieving world peace for mankind. A tough ask but I think you can do it. Girl power.

There's a one day course you can take that is FANTASTIC. You can find out if they have it near you by going to www.franklincovey.com and looking at their seminars. If it's not nearby or too expensive, then read Stephen Covey's book The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People. It talks about how to set your goals and daily priorities on what you want to accomplish in life and what your values are. Basing it on things that are important to you makes them more likely to happen.

i too am a part time student and fluctuate between days of 'AAAARRRGGGHHH' and days of 'ZZZZZZZZZ'

It doesnt matter so much what you do every day, just make sure you do something!

I am slowly redecorating my flat. Some days i paint a wall, other days i clear the garden..(today - secure the back gate after the windy night here in the SW approaches!)...just make sure its at least one thing every day....its when you take a day out that the trouble starts!

be prepared to make sacrifices to your time when planning out a schedule, it'll all work out in the end though. Also remember, confidence is the best aspect when you're in an interview.

do some voluntary work. your problem is a lack of routine. Commit yourself to helping others for, say, a couple of days a week and it will help you get a little more organised.
