This to me would one, solve the business owners rights to operate their business as the owners of such
two, would stop the argument of inhaling 2nd hand smoke...they would know where to go or not go
three, the smokers then could light up and not feel threatened?
fourth, the states then could still get their tax money they like

First, I am a non-smoker and can attest that when I visit my parents who both are heavy smokers (with a lot of health issues related to smoking) that I experience a lot of congestion and respiratory issues. I spent the last three days with them in the car and their home and I now have a severe chest cold (that I did not have prior). That being said I STILL believe it is their right to smoke and I deal with the adverse affects of it when I am around. I love my parents and am sad that they are going to die before their time because of smoking but it is their choice as adults.
I do not like going to restaurants when everyone is smoking but we go to restaurants as long as their is a non-smoking section. I do not like the way government is regulating personal lives and I am not to concerned with how much scientific evidence there is against or for something. People choose what they choose and who is the government to regulate that? It is a political SNAFU ...

AMEN! Let the business owner decide what clientele he or she wants to market to.

I live in a small city in MO and local policy does require separate non-smoking and smoking areas but does not mandate that businesses be smoke-free. One of the better restaurants in town has been smoke-free for ages and has always done a great business. And one of the most popular nightclubs is so smoky that even a 4 pack a day diehard is left choking and gagging.

Let the business decide, and let the people decide where they want to go.

Good idea... the non-smokers are definitely inflicting their views on the minority of smokers... I think there still should be "smoking areas" for restaurants etc, with separate ventilation perhaps. The new tax on cigarettes in Texas, additional $1.41 tax per pack now is amazing... taxing a specific group.. I wonder if that is legal?

I love the people that are so concerned about 2nd hand smoke when they go to a bar bc they're so afraid for their own health drinking them selves to death......... I can see it now "that @ss gave me lung cancer, i was specifically at the bar to get cirrhosis of the liver!!!"
