Absolutely. The Bible tells us that when Jesus returns and fights evil for the last, time, sending those to hell who refuse to follow him, he will make a new earth and we will live it. I am a follower of Jesus and have put my trust in Him. Do the same and you will see God's promises for yourself someday. Read the Book of John in the Bible to understand what it means to follow Christ.
Revelation 21:4 "He [God] will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Isaiah 65:17 "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind."
2 Peter 3:13 "But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness."
Revelation 21:1 "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

Last night I went to a New Year party (Brit-Mexican). Just before midnight everyone was given a glass containing 12 grapes. We had to make a wish, then eat one grape for every month of the coming year. The only thing I could think of to wish for was peace on Earth, 12 times.
I think there will have to be a radical improvement in education before people will learn to be tolerant of cultural and philosophical differences, and without mutual understanding, there is no hope of being able to settle disputes amicably.

Are you insane..?? *no offence*
World peace is something of a fantasy of humans. There will never be peace until all POSITIONS are removed from society. (eg. Leader, Prime Minister, President, etc) There will always be people who want more and more and with their unsatisfiable greed there will always be a problem.
The first Gulf War for instance. Sadamn took over Kuwait b/c he wanted the riches, oil and more land. Similarly, WW2... Hitler wanted more land for his Third Reich...
We can wish as much as we want for WORLD PEACE... it may come.. in another few billion generations from now... for a few minutes? (couple of hours if we're lucky..) but not much more than that...
Blame all that.. on the Human characteristic of Greed

Islam means Peace attained thru Total Submission to the Will of the Almighty God. Peace is related to everyone's mind. Even the poorrest of the poor will have his pleasing moments. Even the richest of the rich will have his sad monents. If your mind is in Peace you can face both the extremes in peace.

Peace will be in our heart, it will be given only through Holy Spirit from Father in the account of Lord Jesus! This world is disastrous, as in the time of noah inorder to been saved, they got into boat..in the sameway, inorder to achive peace and love rather salvation of soul, we ought to get into Jesus, the Real Peace and Love!! Those who accept it, will have peace in his heart forever unto eternity!!
