M-reg. 1.9 Diesel ZX. Our ZX won't start. The Glow plug indicator lights up and goes of, but when you turn the ignition there's not a peep. I've tried charging the battery, but this has made no difference. current voltage is just over 13.5V.
What is the most likely cause of the problem?

Don't think there is an immobiliser. It would've had originally, but the last owner fitted a reconditioned engine and disabled the alarm system.

Thanks charlotterobo. I gave the starter a sharp tap and it started afterwards. I'll be getting a new starter then.
Thanks everyone.

If the engine is not even turning over there is a couple of possibilities`s .
Started motor knackered ( give it a tap with a hammer )
You have lost the code / chip out of the immobiliser key .
Or you have a dodgy wire to the starter motor .

Does the car have an immobilser?
Have you checked all fuses?
The starter motor i snot turning if you do not hear a peep, and this could be caused be the immobiliser not being disabled, or a fuse that has broken etc.

First test the voltage supply to the heater plugs, there will be a red cable going to a black one that connects to all 4 heater plugs. Is there voltage? If not, check your relay. If there is, then slightly undo an injector and turn engine, does fuel come out? If no, then check solenoid on pump for faulty fuel shut off. ?? Try taking the plunger out of the solenoid if no fuel comes out injectors.Email if you want more help, can try to help!
