I asked a girl mate if we'd ever become more than friends(we're close and there's a mutual attraction), her response was:

Never,Never,Never,Never,Never,... etc

She said this in a joking way, i asked her to be serious and she just started saying:
Never,Never,Never,Never,Never,... etc and changed the subject ASAP.

Was she being serious or just trying to avoid the subject???

Does mean anything that she said Never,Never,Never,Never,Never,... in a joking way???

I suggested that we'd be a good couple and she responded by saying that "it wouldn't work + not feel right"-MEANING???

Would this indicate she fancies me or not???

What is it with you guys, first you are friends with the girls then you want to have more than friendship. I thought females were like that. I think most females now-a-days are so independent and enjoy it so much they don't want to be tied down to a guy. Once you start getting serious everything changes, the fun disappears , the laughter the closeness and then bang, never to be friends again.Rather just be friends and be happy with that:))

Well, it would serve her right if you took her seriously and she was only kidding, wouldn't it? I'd keep my distance from her for awhile and see how she behaves.

A man has to take a lady at her word with regard to relationships to avoid being thought too pushy. If she has developed a habit of saying other than what she means, she needs to learn the lesson that it is worth her while to be honest.

She probably does but is scared to change her current relationship with you. Reason being she fears that it would not not last. Find out for you self if you really like this girl in a romantic way or if it is just a infatuation if it is true to you than continue to pursue it, but be aware you might drive her away.

I'd let it go. Her response, however jovial, is perhaps her way of letting you down gently. Whilst there may be an attraction there, if she wanted to act on it, I'm guessing she would. She obviously values your friendship, and doesn't want to hurt you in any which way ... I'd bow down with grace now, my friend ... learn from it, but don't act on it ... you've a lot to jeopardise by the sounds of it.

Good luck et al

She probably does like you as a friend, BUT she is not ready for a relationship yet. I wouldn't wait for her until she is ready. Find someone who does want a relationship. You are ready, she is not and told you so, time to move on.

She really does not see you as someone she could be attracted to. That could change with time, but she is being quite clear about it right now.

No, she doesn't, she's trying to be nice. It wouldn't work because she doesn't feel right, meaning, she does not feel that way about you.

Find someone else, you're beating a dead horse.

she was only trying to change the subject.
now that you have broken the ice and she knows what's on yo mind she'll start thinking about it seriously soon enough and will let you know

She just wants to be your mate, and probably has hers eyes on another bloke.
