Hey there,
I am assuming that this is a desktop, yes? If not you are SOL. (S*** out of Luck)
You really only have two options.
1. Buy a usb wire.
2. Buy a firewire PCI/ PCI-express card (if supported)

You can add Firewire to your computer - it's a PCI card. (Make sure you have an available open slot, of course.) They are pretty cheap - $25 to $40, depending on where you buy it. You will probably need software to transfer the video, too, unless you already have it. Check at download.com and see if you can find something free or a trial version of the software.

if this is a desktop type computer, go ahead and buy an expansion card that has fire wire ports in it.itll require an open pci slot on your system ( the white slots on your motherboard) and will give your computer the necessary support.compusa, best buy, or your local computer shop can make the upgrade for you if needed

if you have an open PCI slot, or if using a laptop an open PCMCIA slot, you can add firewire ports.
check here http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=COMBOPCI-BAY-7V&cat=CCD&cpc=CCDbsc or here http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=NN-PCM312-S2-DT&cat=CCD for examples of firewire add on cards
.
also, please note that just because you can add the cards and give your computer firewire does not mean that your computer will be fast enough to a) transfer the video w/o problems b) edit the video w/out problems, and/or c)be able to export the video w/out problems. your processor type & speed, amount of ram, speed of hard drives, space available on the hard drives, throughput of the machine, and other factors will influence your odds of success.

Nope, Firewire became made by technique of MAC and computers made the USB properly-known. So some computers might have it yet not all. you'll want an adapter in case you extremely like it on your domicile windows based computer
