I agree. Not too many of them have any real battle experience except maybe cheerleading tryouts at Yale.

It depends on what eight years your talking about and what was going on during that time. Did you serve in Just Cause, Granada, Desert Shield or Desert Storm one, or how about the current Iraqi Freedom??? If the answer is NO, then you are a lucky person and the reason you don't talk $hit is cause you don't have any life or death experiences where you better kill someone or get killed.
I served in Viet Nam and No, war is not glorious, No, war is not grand, and Yes, people talk thru their blow holes because they don't know what they are talking about.
It doesn't matter cause just as many democrats cant say they actually served in combat, real or with Box 360. I survived a complete tour of Nam and can tell you that to win a war, people have to die, and hope like hell its them and not us. If you think war is clean and sterile, then I doubt seriously that you ever served in any branch of the service.

It is clear that you think not.. I have never been in war, nor do I plan to. It is not in my nature, it is unnatural. I wish that all those in combat could experience peace and put an end to suffering so people wouldn't have to lose fathers and brothers. You may say it is human nature to cause conflict, all I am saying is lets put an end to this.

Of course not. According to your last great leader, all people who serve in the military are uneducated, lower class ignoramuses who have no other choice. We, as republicans, are busy counting our ill gained money and worshiping President George Bush at our secret gatherings where we discuss the secrets of how to prosper in this evil country of ours.

That question is as silly as if I were to ask: Why don't bleeding hearted liberals give to private charities like conservatives do. Both questions make the false assumption that tough talking republicans never fought in any wars, or that all libs never give to charities. I can actually think of some republicans who served in war...George Bush Sr., Ollie North to name just a few, and I can also think of some libs who give to charities...well theres....ummmm......I'll get back to you on that one....

It would seem to me those who serve in active combat have a less "killer attitude" for continuing the actual killing than those without the expirence, although I have not served I would try to find other approches first.

I served in the US Marines, in VietNam 1967-1969. Like in Viet Nam..we are being indecisive and not allowing the troops to wage the war. If we allow the troops to control the war, we would kill and break more, ending it sooner....WW2 was such a war....ended completely in 4 years....havent won a war since...maybe its our strategy or lack of it

No matter what side of the political fence a person falls on, I am greatful to each and every one of them. What a weak minded question.
What a divisive question. Shame on you.

THANKS FOR THIS QUESTION--- it needed to be asked.
It's also interesting to note that, Colin Powell, the only member of Bush's cabinet who actually saw any combat was the ONE person who disagreed most strongly with the invasion of Iraq and he was the one who was marginalized and had his opinion ignored.
But Republicans respect our troops, right?

I serve daily in a war of sorts. I'm a criminal defense attorney. And a conservative.
And contrary to liberal talking points, liberal attorneys are mostly interested in money. And conservative attorneys are mostly interested in saving lives.
