I bought and installed Nero 7 and am confused by it. Maybe because I jumped from 4-year old Nero to version , so I can't answer your question about version 6. Nero 7 has a LOT of stuff in it, you have to sort through what you can use and what you want to use. Once I figured out how to burn a CD the way I wanted it, it was easier than the much-earlier version.

I am using Nero 7 and wish I had stayed with Roxio. In fact I ordered and received the Roxio Crerator 8 and am debating about taking the Nero out.

I use nero 6 on a Windows XP Pro System, and i dont have any problems with it!
