I have never used ebay before, however I am desperately looking for tickets to a sold-out event, and this seems like the only possibility.
It's a lot of money for me to lay down with, for what I gather, no garauntee that the seller is honest.
What do I do?

I sell on ebay and have no problems buying or selling, just look into the persons reviews and what thier number is for selling (beside their name)if it is 10 or higher and 100%, I would say to trust it, people dont work hard to achieve a good rating and good reviews to throw it away, trust me, its work!oh yea, I always and only use PAYPAL!!!!!!!!!

I am an Ebay Seller and Buyer. My feedback is almost 2,400 at 99.9%.
Here is my suggestions:
Check the persons feedback, well.
Read what others say about this seller
Pay by Paypal as they guarantee your money
Do not send money order or check
Ebay has a system in place to Get Money Back, read it
Talk to the seller, email them your concerns, they will respond
Ask questions and some sellers give you a phone number
Dont buy from a seller with feedback under 100 for a big purchase that costs a lot of money.
I have bought many items on Ebay and most were good purchases. The more expensive items turned out better than the least expensive. I lost money one time on a DVD as the seller disappeared (he was being investigated by Ebay) and lost $8.
I have had a few purchases that the item was not impressive as the photo, but this happens and you swollow it up and move on. I have saved so much money on Ebay it is not worth the hastle to go after sellers for small amounts.
I just got a full refund for jewelry that I did not like ($150) from the seller when the seller misrepresented the items. I gave her bad feedback and she contacted me at once to offer the refund even though she said before no refund. I took the bad feedback off her record and she was happy and she got the items back.
As a seller, I make sure all my customers are happy. I bend over backwards for any customer who is honest with me. I want there business and for them to return to my site. I have auctions going right now and I treat each one with professionalism.
Buy your tickets after you do your research. You should have a great sale and a nice time at the concert.

Ebay is usually fine, there are some that spoil it but majority are ok...However buying tickets to sold out events is the most hazardous as often they are false or the seller doesn;t actually have the tickets yet.....ask a lot of questions (you can send questions to the seller) to see if they are genuine...if you donlt like the answers then don;t bid :) good luck

Look at the feedback of the seller. Go with someone who is at or VERY near to 100% and has several transactions where they're the seller and they've sold similarly priced items (instead of having sold all things that are $5 and then selling concert tickets for $500). Anyone with 98% or less positive feedback is someone to be suspicious of.

Check the feedback and also check the types of items that received feedback, is it something similar to what you are buying? Be sure to check for overly high shipping charges,
this is something some sellers do to reduce the fee they
have to pay eBay for the sale, since the eBay fee is based on
the selling price of the item.

Look at the feedback. Ive bought at least 50 things on ebay and never got screwed over.

Ebay is a safe way to buy things. Make sure you check out the sellers feedback and see how they delivered in previous auctions. Go for it and have fun.

most people sell good products on ebay. the only thing you have to lookout for is the same person running the price up but ebay does police there site and if something is wrong they do there best to make it right...

u can't. I have an aunt who collects things and buys on ebay, nd she sometimes gets ripped off. Check on a person's data. They're recent sales will come up and comments on thata person. Good LUCK!
