I share a room with my (very irritating) little sister and really would like to divide the room into 2! i have thought about folding screens but they are very expensive and most of them do not fit across my room! i have also thought about curtains but yet again they can be expensive and i would not know how to put them up! if anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know! thank- you for you time!!

the cheapest idea i can come up with that can still look pretty cool:
go to walmart (or wherever) and buy a couple packs of cup hooks. they'll be in the hardware section next to nails & screws, they are little brass or silver hooks that people sometimes mount underneath kitchen cabinets to hang coffee mugs off of. they also happen to twist quite easily into the ceiling, and don't leave enormous holes if you need to remove them. they'll hold up to light things, but will pull out of the ceiling if you yank on them too hard, so don't hang anything really heavy.
once those cuphooks are up there (and hey, it's up to you, make em go in a straight line or a funky curve, it's your room), hang a cloth shower curtain from the hooks. this will leave about 3 feet of space under the curtain, so if you want it to go almost to the floor, just tie little loops of ribbon through the shower curtain holes and make the loops as long as you'd like, and hang those loops off your ceiling hooks.
alternately, even cheaper but not as nice-looking, cut small holes in an old sheet and hang that from your hooks. decorate the sheet with fabric paint or sharpie markers before hanging if you want to jazz it up a bit.

Go to a hardware store and buy some clothesline in whatever length you need... it's fairly cheap, and it's strong. You'll probably have to use screw hooks to attach it to the wall though, so your Mom might not like that idea. If she lets you though, you can just hang up some cool blankets or material like you were hanging them on a clothesline.

build a wall out of wood or somthing or make some curtains out of fabric that u can just buy at wal-mart or joanns that would b cheaper than buying curtains!
