does anyone else agree and also thinks that mel gibsons remake of life of brian is not quite as funny as the1979 version done by the python team?

One of the funniest films ever. Definitely in my top ten. Didnt know Mel Gibson was doing a remake, no way could it be as good as the original.

I thought that the remake was being done by Mel Brooks, not Mel Gibson.

I disagree that they were equally funny, I found HG to be a lot funnier, but LOB to be a lot deeper. As an atheist I appreciate Life of Brian the most I think.

I love the 1979 version I love Monty Phython. Here it's on at 9 on channel 4. It may be blasphetheous but the Monty phython team done great work.

mel's has more whipping...and it also features the subtitle "he's not the messiah"-no way is that a coincidence-prob british bloke doing the subs -would be lost on mel
