it depends on why u have a blue screen ... if its because of a virus there could be problems trying to recover data ... if u have another pc and its backed up u could connect the drive as a slave and try to recover files ... then reinstall windows ... or u could buy another HD and install windows on it and use ur old one as a slave ...

The blue screen (often called the blue screen of death) is trying to tell you that there is an error that Windows can't recover from. It tells you whay it has crashed and should give you some helpful hints as to what is causing the issue.

If it does it as soon as you turn on the computer, it may be a hardware issue. If you have made recent changes to your computer, now is a good time to undo those changes.

If you are able to use the computer, but only get the error when attempting to do specific actions, you should be able to troubleshoot issues with that specific application.

If all else fails, take it to a qualified service technician for repair.

Try: Tap the F8 key when the computer is booting up. This should bring you to an ugly screen called Safe Mode.
Sign on as Administrator and see if you can get your burn program to work to save your files before you do anything to fix the problem. (the 'fix' may make it worse!) Better than burn it would be faster and safer to drag your files to a flash drive.
Saving your files and documents is first, then go on to fix the computer.
Anything that is important to you should be backed up on a regular basis. (you know that!!!)
Good Luck.....

To get to the reboot menu, hold down F8, and go to safe mode. You can view the set up and see whats happening. F12 is set up and F2 is standard reboot or vice versa( i could be backwards, its been a while since I've had it do that).

try to boot into safemode, if you can, you have a virus or corrupt Windows installation.

Then fix it, and get your files.

first before u do anything make a backup Disk w/ Floppy or hard disk... then when that's done then u might want to consider reformatting windows.... that should work
