He earned the nickname "Jake the Snake" at Arizona State.
He won with a dramatic flair, fashioning seven game-winning comebacks.
There were ample amounts of flash and dash, Plummer passed and scrambled for the plays that produced those fourth-quarter rallies.
Didn't translate to the pros at Arizona or Denver nearly as much though.....

b/c in college he could scramble really well. he was as slithery and as hard to catch as a snake. Thus Jake the snake.

anybody named Jake has that nickname simply because it rhymes. WVU had a QB about 12 yrs ago...same thing.

its kinda a hand me down nickname. he just sorta was called that since his name is jake and hes a broncos qb.
