Well I think that Philosophy is asking questions and considering all answers. Philosophy asks the big questions and accepts no one answer. We ask these questions to stimulate deeper thought and to expand the universe as we understand it, or as we try to understand it.
Organized Religion demands that it not be questioned in most cases. Certainly Christianity is such. Historically, questioning Dogma would have someone denied access to Heaven.
I think philosophy and religion are the same or are two sides of the same coin. We are reasoning beings and were made that way so that we could attempt to fathom what we are and how we got here. Religion may tell us these things but most scripture is very much up for interpretation. We then choose to accept what others say it means or question it until we understand it for ourselves.

Like a cliche or a script from a "B" movie, yet there is some truth in it. Philosophy is not just asking questions,its using reason to answer questions, but many religions do not like the answers they supply questioned.

It's a good observation. Philosophy also accepts all sorts of answers to a question, whereas religion tends to have things spelled out for people. You have to really work to understand philosophy.

A religion that must not be questioned ends up in pure superstitions.
A philosophy that starts with words and ends with words and not actions, is a waste of time.

Makes compelte sense. Philosophy is based on reason, while religion is based on faith. That does not mean either are more powerful.Faith can be as strong as reason and vise versa.
