I assume you mean your wedding dress. Congratulations!
The best thing would be to put it back on the hanger it came on. Cover the dress with a clean old sheet, pinned in place, to keep dust off it and allow it to breathe. Hang your dress somewhere safe where it won't get squished by other clothes.
Remember that this is only a short term thing. The sooner you get you dress cleaned and properly stored the better. Stains and dirt have a way of setting themselves into the fabric and becoming more difficult to remove. Visit or call around shops in your area, prices and services offered can vary. Some shops will take care of you and your dress right there, others send them out. Where you bought the dress should be able to recommend a cleaners you can trust.

Tissue paper between the layers, and in a clean (preferaby white an made for storage) cardboard box.
Do not store in plastic. The dress cannot "breathe" and will yellow quicker.
You need to get this cleaned or there will be spots that they can never get out.

In a black trash bag then in a plastic Rubbermaid type box. Make sure the trashbag is black so the sun can get through and leave yellow stains. (I assume you mean a wedding dress right?)

Put a cover over it. Don't use a plastic bag because the moist will cause mold or mildew to form on the clothing. Put it in a dry closet. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
