Washington and New Hampshire -- the prisoner can choose either execution by letal injection or hanging

*Response to below reply -- Gary Gilmore was executed by firing squad in 1977. Since then, Utah has banned execution by firing squad and only allows lethal injection*

As far as I know, Texas still allows hanging. I think it's more that people can hang for crimes (like stealing your horse) rather than as a government execution. I may be completely wrong, but that's what I have heard.

I think only Utah. Didn't they hang Gary Gilmore several years ago?
