I think BONNIE (the person above me) is rude!
I had a planned UC and a UP and it was great! I felt euphoric for weeks. I felt empowered. My UC son is 3 years old now and is very intelligent.
We got the book Emergency Childbirth, Unassisted Homebirth, and Unassisted Childbirth. I took care of myself during pregnancy, I listened to my intuition, I had a stress free pregnancy. I drank lots of fluids, ate meat, ate fruits and veggies.

There was support group on yahoo for UC births. All the women on there were very helpful. This support group never critized or judged you on your decision. No one in the support told you to have UC. you give birth the way you are comfortable with- at the hospital, at home with midwife, or by yourself. Read Laura Shanley's website. She had 4 UC's!

By the way, people try to scare you telling you that UC is dangerous.Well giving birth in the hospital is also dangerous with all the germs and infections.
I'm not sure if you live in the United States, but in the US, there is no law saying that UC is a crime or that you have to have a midwife or that you have to give birth in the hospital. It didn't say that the mother who delivers her baby is a criminal either. There is growing number of planned UC'ers in the United States. I've known several of them in my state who went UC.

Please email me if you have any questions.

I didn't, but I had a girlfriend who did ... she was afraid to tell her husband and her family that she was pregnant ... she was ok but of course everyone became concerned during the birth (she called out to her mom from the bathroom during her first hard labor pains) and her mom and husband helped her through, then they went to the hospital... mom and baby were fine, but of course there are risks if something goes wrong. I also had a friend who went to a birthing house (not a hospital but they can handle minor trouble and be ready for major issues ... less costly and more like a home setting) Just remember you can put yourself at risk as well as your baby ... cord wrapping around babies neck is common. I'm not judging just giving info so you can know what could lie ahead of you ... I'm assuming you'll have someone there to help you ... I hope you have a wonderful trouble free birth ...
