Its more situational. A woman now-a-days is expected to work full-time, take care of kids, keep the house clean, cook dinner, be really skinny, always be well manicured and beautiful, and to somehow still have the happiest husband on the planet.
Have you seen what we go through every morning getting ready? All the hair products, hair styling, make-up, and clothes. My fiance blow drys his hair for 2 minutes and its completely dry. It takes mine about 20-30 minutes JUST to get it dry.
I do understand the pressures of a man as well. How important taking care of his family is to him, and how it affects his feeling like a man. I think thats a lot of pressure, but now-a-days women are expected to provide AND take care of everything at home.
If they don't have kids, its a different story. They both can work and both take part in the cooking and cleaning. Then its probably equal.

Personally, I think it depends on your age, or rather the truths you particular generation bought into.
Physically, I do believe it is much harder to be a woman.
Sexually, regardless of generation, men are allowed to be sexual
with less judgement.
Emotionally, women really do, most of us, have a much closer
relationship with our emotions.
Financially, I think its easier being a man. I think I heard yesterday that nearly 50% of single moms live at the poverty level. There
are still plenty of glass ceilings and well there is so much in this area....
Security-The Bag-Lady Syndrome is still well and alive even for women with great well paying jobs.
Sexually- I think it can be harder for men because of the expectations to perform and we women can just kind of fake it when we don't
won't to hurt anyone's feelings
Kids- Altho there are a huge amount of great dads out there, most of the child care still is done by mothers.
Housework- Even tho it's 2007, women who work usually still do more of the housework and childcare at home.
I'm a woman, and I'm sure a man could think of a lot more things that makes it harder to be a man. But I could just see things from my own experience.
I do think that young people seem to be more equal in there relationships and maybe the guys do take responsibility for an equal amount of the housework and childcare.
Happy New Year and blessings to you and let us hope that we
will all, male and female have an easy and blessed 2007. :)

1. being a woman is harder because of the labour we have to go through when it comes to children. my sister in law just had a baby and she said it was the harshest physical pain she's ever experienced (she had normal birth).
2. men on the other hand may suffer more in terms of fitting in with the stereotype - "bread winners". women become dependent on men because they have to fully support them at their time of distress when it comes to children.
3. women have the XX chromosomes
4. men have the XY chromosomes (xy means that women have the dominant gene X and men have the recessive Y) = women have other anatomical benefits than men
5. men are physically stronger than women

we all have our crosses to bear. but let me ask you this with most women working outside the home now and still most of the household duties still being left up to the woman its kinda obvious that women still take more burden. if you know a man and wife in which the couple still work who spends more time with kids, who calls about dental appointments, who is on the phone with other parents setting up play dates. this is for married people.
divorced women usually have custody of kids and work full time.
working women still make less then men in same proffession working same hours. The excuse, the men have children to support. well so do the women. if you call them on it and they admit it, you have a lawsuit. if they say its for "other reasons" then you are screwed.
what do you think?
