I work for the Federal Government, I know the process works slowly. Check out the site below. NOW is the time to start looking for summer work.

Check the address of the BLM or forest service location and write to them or call them etc. to find out requirements and information. They might even have a Email or web site. Check on GOOGLE.COM for information for site.

www.usajobs.gov is the best start for any type of federal employment. Also access their "student" section, as it does list summer hiring positions.

The application process is lengthy, residence going back 10+ yrs, employment dates and address.

Access all the gov't websites directly. And don't forget the state parks as well....

Marilyn, you might want to try this: America's Job Bank at http://www.ajb.dni.us. You can register, log on create a resume', search for jobs by type and/or within so many miles of a zipcode, post your resume' and job preferences, recieve job offers, contact employers, reply to employers and arrange job interviews. And all of this is for free! Hope this helps you find your summer jobs!
