Cold, and getting colder very fast... within a few days the temperature would be below -100°C. The energy input of the sun is immense, and it's absolutely required to maintain our climate. Look how much it cools off in just a few hours at night.

In a matter of a few days all life would die on earth. Sunlight is crucial for us to live since the weather in space is in the extreme negatives the sun is the only source we have of keeping that freezing cold from hitting us and making sure we can survive. Without the sun, all plants and animals would die since plants rely on the sun to grow and flourish and take in all the CO2 from our atmosphere and create oxygen for us if they die we would freeze and sufficate. Hope this answers your question

If it was blocked, then all light and warmth from the sun would be blocked, sending the Earth into an ice age. Even if, for a little time it was blocked, the temperature of the Earth would change drastically.

i presume you also mean theheat we receive from the sun, imm sure there are scientists that ahve calcualte how long it would take bu eventually all life on the planet would cease to exist, i spose there could eb some survial for a short time with fueal reserves and food and water supplies inside, but the average house would not last long, think how cold it is on neptune. i would guess in 24 hours the temperature would drop below zero and that within a week most life would be extinguisehed and taht assuredly within a month all life would cease to exist
