It's a very controversial subject: I've met some who were born like that, but some others that "discover" their tendency after being with a guy, and had never thought about it.

There's not still an answer, but there are some sites that mught help you!

Your best bet would be to do a Google search on 'Nature vs Nurture' researches but it may take you some time to find exactly what you're looking for.
On a personal note: I have no idea if it's a choice or not but why does it matter? If it is a choice then it's a choice that anyone has the right to make. Unfortunately, people also have the choice of having a problem with it. It's tempting to have an anti-homophobe rant but I won't.

first I'd go to the 'american psyc assosication' (http://www.apa.org/)
they have a lot of material there. jus do some basic searches with one or two key words.

then you can go to 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexuality' and look at the 'Physiological differences in homosexual people'

and finally if you will listen to hear say. the brains of gay and straight people are shaped differently. the physical responces to members of either sex can't be faked and have been recorded in studies. there is no logical reason for someone to choose to be gay.

(for further reading and some balance I highly recommend tolerance.org and religioustolerance.org. they give all views not just one)

Try looking up Simon LeVay (1991). He found significant differences in the size of the third interstitial nucleus of the anterior hypothalamus (INAH-3), found in the preoptic area of the brain. Compared with heterosexual men, the nucleus was significantly smaller in homosexual men.

You could also try google scholary or any neurobiology site.

The jury is still out on the whole 'nature versus nurture' thing but you'll get a really balanced view by reading this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_gene

Have fun.

Just do a search, and vast amount of material concerning this misguided thought will appear. The search engines have probably been doctored by The Homosexual Agenda, just like you can't get anything honest to pop up about the Roman Empire (and history has apparently been rewritten to please political correctness).

Hey, I'm a gambler, and I'm going start claiming to be "born that way" for this behavior as well - attributable to genetic factors. Then, maybe I could crusade for special rights and an elite minority status, also! :)

Please read Robin Skynner & john Cleese book called Families & How to Surviv them it explains it quite well that it's not genetic & is caused by parental behaviour.

Pick up a Bible and read Romans Chapter 1 VS 24 - 26. There is some past research listed there and some advice from our creator. We are of the flesh so we will have lust in our heart. Look to God and he can help re-direct your heart.
