The Bible says that marriage should be done properly...which includes proper documentation and such. But even for someone who is not religious. I still think the papers are good to have because wihtout them, its like technically, you are not obligated to anything or anyone so you can bail like all the *ahem* celebrities do when they get bored or something better comes along. I definitely plan to marry the legal, respectful way and stay married. If you are nto sure you want to be with that person forever, then don't marry them. take your time...and im pretty sure nobody does that anymore which is the reason that I think unfortunately, no marriage really does not mean anything in today's society...at least in North America where I live

Yes, because even if it is just a piece of paper, the marriage license is a visible sign of the commitment and love that you have for each other. Also, if you are married its more difficult to leave the other person over stupid BS because you have to stop and thin for a second, " is this really worth a divorce over," instead of " hey thats it F U Im gone"

To me I think that if you really love someone and you truely know that you can see yourself with them through the good and the bad then go for it. If not I would not go through with it. Personally my opinion is that being that the divorce rate these days is close to 50% marriage is not what it used to be. Most people are just looking out for themselves and just trying to find a way to get half of someone's assets.

hi, i'm sorry to pay attention your marriage is unlikely so nicely after the variety of long term being married or being at the same time for 18 years. i'm in basic terms married for a million 365 days and seven months. i will inform you that it wasn't uncomplicated to stay as much as our marriage vows. That tale i visit share to you next time. to respond to your Q : ''Do the marriage vows relatively propose something anymore in modern-day society? '' my answer is ''sure'' and ''NO''. it certainly relies upon on the guy who's making the vows. you notice the society made regulations and regulations referred to as regulation. those rules in a manner help the guy think of of uncomplicated ways to break their vows. What i'm getting at is that international places with ''divorce'' supplies persons the choice to break their sacread vows. assisting human beings to surely ignore and wreck thier be attentive to honor and the clarification why they have been given married interior the 1st place. The which ability of marriage vows relatively lies interior the potential of character and private upbringing of someone. i'm a Catholic and from a united states the place we have no ''divorce'' instead we call it annulment. Annulment isn't uncomplicated to get and it takes loads of tidious and carfull scutinization in the past it relatively is granted. additionally takes extremely some money to start with. So no longer maximum of persons get divorce and remarry. yet merely the comparable they separate with out the legal papers. So there, in modern-day society marriage vows lifeline certainly relies upon on the potential and values of the persons making them.

No. Marriage is for the couple. Do it if you want or don't do it if you want. Living together is the easy way out and marriage takes courage but who cares what anyone thinks. If you're in love with a tree what do I care if you just live together or get married.

It's not about the paper--it's the public commitment, and the private, individual commitment.
The principle is valid, or people with sheepskins would be paid the same as blue collars, which doesn't generally happen.
So even if you can't see it right now, there is a 'devinite' reward for doing it 'right'.

Its just the whole thing of getting married that means something.... of course you get the paper license. My marriage means everything to me... my wife is my life, we are partners and do everything together... I feel better we are married, if your not the other has no commitment to you at all.

well i guess it doesn't mean anything much since people get divorced so often and quickly...it all has itz pros and cons of marraige. the only negative i can think of is if sumone gets divorce...and if they r committed to each other...then they shudn't even get a divorce. sure things change and all but the paper actually reminds them of the day/date and how they all were together at the "happy moment" in their life.....

Marriage has turned into a government run program instead of the religious intentions it was originally given.
