Does Metalocalypse have any similarities to Spinal Tap?

I've never seen Spinal Tap. :(

Only in the fact that they are both about a band and they are both comedies. Not much else other than that. But they are both very very good. I highly recommend This is Spinal Tap if you still haven't seen it.

The only similarities are that they both are spoofs and fictional bands.
