restrict the cats travels ,good idea ,problem cats jump onto furniture and window sills, curtains etc if using good quality alarm system , decide where you want to allow cat to roam , if poss upper floor which means no problem making ground floor secure , if lower floor you cant use p.i.r,s or dual techs. mrs,s on doors and vibration analysers or glass break detectors on windows are probably best option.good luck, terry

There must be a system that has a height setting. A system that has a good window and door breach alarm rather than having sensors within the house.

Do you mean motion or intrusion type alarm detector?
I have a motion detector in some rooms. I was told the cat would not set off a motion detector, but I doubt that's true. I keep the doors closed during the day to those rooms, so the mischievous cat can't go in and knock stuff over.

You can fit 'Petsafe' PIR sensors which will not react to animals up to the size of a dog, OR use 'Pet alley' leses in standard PIR's which allow animals to move below a flat bottomed beam. Your alarm installer will know all about these.
PS You could also restrict the cat to a zone and omit that zone when setting?

Why dun u install cams at the alarms... Quite a worthy investment since u dunno what is exactly happening , and yeah i do suspect the Decorator. U can never know , someone is wearing a sheep clothing while inside is a wolf. There alot of reason this might be happen , just stay calm and think rationally . But i do recommend installing a video camera at the alarm area , and yeah double check ya decorator or ya maid. Best of luck

A reputable alarm company will survey your house and take into account any pets you have. Some alarms have pet sensors or can be height adjusted to take into account a pet's height and movements.
