John 7: 53 - 8: 11, the story of the adultery:
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin nor more.
A woman is accused of adultery. The crowd is about to stone her for her sin. Jesus intervenes and rather than chastising the crowd outright, joins the revelers by offering the 1st stone to the worth person who is without sin. Furthermore, he calls upon the men who accused her and none step forward.

Always remember only God has the right to give and take life. We are not God, thus we have no right to kill another. The Lord God says that vengeance is His and His alone. When man takes another mans life, they may call it justice, but God calls it murder done out of vengeance. We Christians are not under the Mosiac Law, that law was fulfilled by the death of Jesus upon the cross. Jesus came to teach forgiveness, compassion, mercy, love...........He told the ones trying to kill the woman accused of adultery, let ye without sin cast the first stone. EVERYONE is a sinner thus we have NO RIGHT to cast the first, middle or last stone. To put one to death is one taking the place of God and placing a judgment upon another living soul, which is ILLEGAL in Gods word for us to do.
You may THINK the death penalty is ok in Gods eyes, but it's not. Come to KNOW Gods word and stop playing these foolish games.

Jesus said He came to fulfill God's laws and not to change any of them. God's laws clearly include the death penalty and you know it.
Jesus even allowed the death penalty to be unjustly used on Him. If Jesus did not believe the death penalty was part of God's laws Jesus would have not allowed Himself to be crucified. Jesus could have called thousands of angels to stop the Crucifixion, and how would they have done so? By handing out the death penalty to those who were doing the crucifying of course.

He doesn't.
He said to love those that use you, forgive those who abuse you.
His "endorsement" of the aforementioned stoning was a strong lesson on the ethics of imperfect people passing judgement on imperfect people. In other words - He was against it.
Jesus said that He came not to destroy the law - the Law of Moses - but to fulfill the law.
He summed up the 10 laws with two laws;
Love the Lord God with all your heart, all your mind & all your soul.
And, love your neighbor as yourself.
If you love your neighbor as yourself, you won't; steal, lust, envy or all the other horrible things people do to one another. You also won't kill, whether legalized or not. Face it - abortion is legal - D'ya think God condones that?

How about "RENDER UNTO CAESAR......"? According to what the Romans put into the gospels of your Bible, He meant give the government what it's entitled to have, including dominion over punishment for crimes, and worry about the things you have control over. I would have thought that you actually read your own Bible!?!
Personally, I think the Romans twisted the whole story, but that's only my opinion. Well, not only my opinion but I don't need the argument right now.

Jesus doesn't condone the death penalty, but he also does not denounce it, and it is prevalent in his time, he does say "forgive them father for they know not what they do"

He doesn't condone the death penalty, he's against it. Though shall not murder. It's one of the ten comandments. Just because Jesus didn't say it, doesn't mean it's ok to murder. Jesus came to forgive our sins. That doesn't mean that we can murder because we know that Jesus will forgive us. Murder is still wrong.
The scripture an eye for an eye was old testiment laws. Because of Jesus, we are no longer bound to old testiment laws.

The part where he says man must live by man's laws, if you believe that kind of stuff. Less religion, more spirituality.

He may not have outright condoned it, but he surely didn't outright condemn it either.
He himself was executed, and yet he went nobely to the Cross, instead of spending his last days preaching on how immoral it was.

It doesn't condone abortion either but that doesn't stop liberals from having them.
I think punishing murders for their crimes is less horrific than killing innocent babies and I am not FOR the death penalty.
