they're correctly spelled "Alpha, beta, and gamma" and they are the first 3 letters of the greek alphabet. the rest (in order) are:
delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, kapa, Lambda, mu, nu, xi, omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi, psi, and Omega
