It's different for different women, even for different pregnancies for the same woman. Some women may begin to leak colostrum (the pre-milk that is super-packed with antibodies) early on. Others won't leak until late in pregnancy. (For me, the start of the third trimester was when I noticed colostrum.) Some won't leak at all but could still feed an army after the birth.

The hormone, oxytocin, is responsible for making the woman's uterus contract to deliver a baby. Sometimes oxytocin is produced by signals to the brain whethe placenta becomes old, or sometimes its artificially injected to induce birth. This same hormones (oxytocin) triggers the production of milk from the glands. So as soon as you give birth, it means you can produce milk.

I'm 28 weeks preggers now with my first and I started leaking milk about 3 weeks ago...especially in the mornings. Everyone is different.

after I gave birth, I started pumping the milk so my boy can eat. Whenever I put him to my breasts, he would fall asleep LOL

Generally speaking, not until after said baby is born and begins to suckle. But some women do report colostorum late in their 9th month.

I think pretty much anytime. I leaked colostrum the entire time I was pregnant with both my sons. It probably just depends on your hormones.

It's different for everyone. I didn't get colostrum until the day my daughter was born and began breast feeding.

I get this each month and I am not pregnant - it can happen just from hormones.
