I took mylanta gas because my stomach was hurting so bad, It felt like my ribs were going to crack......I felt I didn't have a choice.I am wondering, do you think this harmed the baby? I took 2 tablets one day and the next day I took 1 or 2 tablets (chewable). It says online that it may possibly be linked to heart defects if used in the first trimester....Im worried, please help.

It will be ok, when my mom was pregnant with me she smoked, drank and did some drugs, and I turned out ok, then my dad dropped me on my head and once left me in a department store. Still ok here

she really doesn't look pregnant in those pix. there is some change in the nipples yes, and just a touch of fullness in the stomach around the ribcage area. If she is pregnant she may only have one pup, or she has just not started showing yet. In another week you should be able to tell for sure. she may simply be having a false pregnancy. Taking her to the vet would be a good idea to know for sure.

I would not think that it hurt your baby but I would tell the dr and just see what they say to make sure. My friend took some gas med when she was pregnant... well before she found out that she was and her little girl is as healthy as can be. Good luck.

I'd say its most likely not done any damage. Believe me people have done so much worse and come out wih healthy babies. Don't stress all this stuff. Your dr will tell you if anything is wrong. Like if you did something wrong the heart beat might not be good right? So don't worry. Ask your d about it I'm sur they will tell you everything is fine.

It probably didn't harm the baby since you only took a few. Here is a list that I go by when I need to take something. And my doctor told me to take tums with calcium for gas/bloating/heartburn. http://www.slwhc.com/medications_for_pregnant_women.htm

Good Luck!

Probably not. Don't worry about it, but mention it to your doctor (prior to birth) and the pediatrician (after birth). They can check the baby's heart in the utereus and again after birth. Problems caught early can be dealt with easier. Best of luck.

well you can always ask your dr. I am not a dr. but I do have an opinion and I would have to say that you didn't harm your baby by taking such a miniscule amount of medication.
